花开富贵!!!
If you hate flowers or my photography, i recommend that you close this window (or tab) right away. don’t say i didnt warn you.
well, today we enjoyed the beauty and splendour of flowers. flowers bloom in spring everywhere in the world, and it is no doubt that even in Singapore, where it’s summer the whole year round, you can still witness the burst of colours and scents that the flowers have to offer.

sentosa flowers 2009
it was my second time to sentosa this vacation. it was much more crowded than before because of the special flower display at imbiah and palawan. most of the people who turned up were ang mohs and those from china (AGAIN! Why do they appear everywhere?
)
yeah we took the monorail as usual and were welcomed by an array of colours!!!

My personal favourite
yeah some of my macro shots are super lousy i know. haha
well, i hope that by the time you scroll to this section, you’d been dazzled by the colours of spring.
i don’t know the names of the species of flowers, sadly. maybe i should become a botanist someday. LOL
now for the INTERESTING part. besides flowers, i managed to capture some birdlife.

in case you can’t see clearly from my low-quality photos, the bird’s upper chest is actually a brilliant blue, while the bottom is yellow.
and then while walking along the luge roadway, we saw a falcon (my mum said eagle -_-) spreading out its majestic wings and perching on a nearby tree top branch. the image isn’t very clear so i hope you can still spot the little fellow.

sentosa falcon
ok now for the most scary part of our day.
we went to a concrete area facing the sea to admire the view. i managed to get some shots before my mum suddenly told me to stoop down. i looked up and was horrified to see a HUGE swarm of bees above our heads. we quietly stooped down but the swarm of bees continued buzzing… we were so worried that the swarm would go lower and start stinging us. that kind of fear, it’s really undescribeable.
thank God, the swarm of them moved to another spot where a Malay guy was. On the contrary, he didnt seem to be afraid, though he squated down too. he was smiling at us -_- the swarm moved somewhere else soon after. what a fright!
that’s a really close shave, we managed to escape that place unscathed. those terrible insects could have stung us to tears.
we left sentosa, somehow feeling great because of that strange and unusual experience. i mean, how often do you get chased by a swarm of bees? well, i’m not saying it’s a good thing! but it’s definitely an unforgettable experience for us.
